What is IIS Manager?

IIS Manager is the name of the GUI (Graphical User Interface) that is used to administrate IIS. You can use this tool to configure application pools, configure web sites, security, performance, start and stop web sites, and much more.

There are several ways to start IIS Manager, and here are two ways:

  • From the Start menu, point to Administrative Tools and click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager

-or-

  • From the Start menu, click Run
  • Type inetmgr and click OK
